Looking for an easy way to update your tired, old brick fireplace? White washing is a great option. Here is what you’ll need:
- Water-based paint (any leftover interior paint will do!)
- Water
- Paint brush and container
- Painters tape
Mix your paint and water at a 1:1 ratio and your all set! Make sure you have a rag or towel handy as the mixture splatters easily. My fireplace took about 4 coats to get this look. I also suggest painting the wood mantel before or during so you can see what the final result will look like. Sometimes the white wash looks a little muddy until it’s next to a freshly painted mantel.
